Cafe 44 is a great place to get a sandwich and iced latte for a great price! At this cafe, you order at the register first and then take a seat. The interior is on the simpler side, but they are fast at table turnover. I tried the California Club and the Traditional Club and enjoyed them both. They have multiple specialty latte flavors. I tried the Samoa and Brown Butter Toffee and both were really good, but the Samoa is very sweet. I selected the homemade chips for my side and they added a nice touch!
Had lunch with my mother today at Cafe 44 in Greensboro, GA. We both ordered the special — Tuna Melt with albacore tuna, crispy bacon, white cheddar, lettuce, and tomato on perfectly grilled sourdough. I had mine with their amazing coleslaw — fresh, crisp, and just the right tang. My mother went with the homemade potato chips — golden, crunchy, and addictively good. From the friendly service to the beautiful setting, this place is an easy 5-star in my book. Definitely worth the stop if you’re near Lake Oconee.
Good, consistent food with daily specials and dinner for four options if you pick them up before close. It's gets busy from time to time.
Ordered take out so can’t speak for the atmosphere but the portion size on the half sandwich/half salad was pitiful. I ordered the same wrap as my aunt but did a half sandwich/half salad and mine was like a child sized portion! The food was good but I feel like they skimped on the portion size.
I really enjoyed this place. It’s quaint and intimate. Service is excellent. There was a young lady at the register who took the orders. Her name escapes me. She was so sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. Plus she was wearing a really pretty shade of nail polish. I ordered a cheeseburger and chips. Yes. I said chips, homemade chips at that. And they were DEELISH! The burger was off the chain. It was cooked perfectly, juicy and meaty. Only problem, very small serving. The place is adorned with lots of paintings of famous musicians and photographs of famous place. Which added to the cafe vibe. It definitely screams leisure dining on the lake. Also, there is also an outdoor dining option as well. I enjoyed this place and would come back. It would have love to see more diversity amo
