Ahadu Ethiopian Restaurant

The food is always fresh and made to order, with amazing spices and aromas. The owner greets everyone with a joyful smile, which makes the experience even better. I’m truly addicted to the flavors! This family-owned restaurant serves some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve ever had.

Really great experience here. The meat selection was excellent and everything was cooked perfectly with a lot of flavor. The portions were generous and the meals came out fresh and well seasoned. You can tell they put a lot of care into the food. Definitely a great spot if you want a satisfying Ethiopian meal.

We stumbled upon this place driving around looking for something that called to us, and wow was I glad this is where we stopped. The employees were so friendly. There’s no paper menus but the QR code clearly defines each dish. We got the vegetarian platter which came with a piece of injera for each of us, a glass bottle of water (no ice) with 2 cups, no utensils (per norm) and when I asked about each dish the super friendly guy there explained each. The cook was really cool too. The bathroom was tiny, clean, and I the peeks I got of the kitchen showed a clean environment. The complexities and layers of flavor in each dish was just lovely. I love Ethiopian food and saw that this spot had amazing reviews, so I came to check it out. We had the combo dish was enough food for three people and we ate it the traditional way without using utensils. We enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly and nice as well. Note that the dishes have spicy options, so make sure you ask in advance if you can’t do spicy food and they will suggest modifications for you. Wish they had desserts too as I didn’t see any on the menu, we would have definitely had some!

I actually haven't been to this place in over a year (before I moved out of the area), but the three times I have gone the food has been awesome. I've eaten at a lot of Ethiopian restaurants in Seattle (and elsewhere) over the past 40 years and this place has my absolute favorite food (well, tied with Delish). I had never noticed there was another Ethiopian place three doors down. I'm back in Seattle for a short visit and wanted to make sure I ate here. Unfortunately, I accidentally went to the other place, thinking it was Ahadu and they had just expanded since my last visit. Upon speaking to the server, it was made known to me that it wasn't Ahadu, but it was too late to leave! The food at the place we ended up at was mediocre, at best. I won't be able to eat at Ahadu while I'm in Seattle
