I went here for dinner today on MLK Day, as part of my solo trip celebrating my recent surgery recovery. The food and service were every bit as great as I’d hoped, and the decor was absolutely stunning. If I had unlimited funds, I’d happily pay any price for whoever decorated this restaurant to do something similar with my house. That being said, the decor does not overshadow the food and beverage. I had the veggie combo, tej, and Amina cocktail. The veggie combo was hearty while being very light on oil—a welcome departure from yesterday’s meat heavy hedonistic foodventure. The collard greens and beets are the stars of this platter. I have eaten a lot of Ethiopian food in various cities over the years, but this was my first time trying tej. Being a local and this being my first time at this restaurant, I’d have to say it was pretty good. They was low staffed but Prince tried to accommodate that with smiles and good food. Though it wasn’t the best jollof I’ve ever had, the whole snapper was absolutely delicious! I really wanted to have the egusi but they only do fufu on mondays so I’ll definitely be back for that!
From the moment you step into Addis Nola, you know you’re in for more than just a meal you’re entering an experience. The staff greets you with genuine warmth, as if you’ve been welcomed into a family home. That’s the prologue, the unspoken promise that what’s about to follow is going to be good down-home good. And though I’m not Ethiopian, I felt right at home. We were oriented to the restaurant where to wash our hands and the restaurant and review the menu. We started with the Hibiscus Pineapple Mocktails non-alcoholic, vibrant, and layered with flavors that kept us guessing. I sipped, paused, then sipped again, trying to pinpoint the delicious tickle on my tongue. My husband joined in, and together we played culinary detectives, but neither of us could place it. Finally, curiosity won
Everything about this place is AMAZING!! The atmosphere, our server Blaze!! And all the food is gluten free and literally some of the best food I've ever eaten and the chai tea!!! Top 5 restaurants in NOLA, we had a party of 11, and we will all ne back!!!
Incredible food! Chicken was juicy, tender, and very flavorful, while the samosas were crunchy and savory. The veggie platter was quite good. The honey wine was unique, but tasty! We will be back!
