Acadia Cottages

We spent a lovely threes days at Acadia Cottages this Autumn. I had heard that Southwest Harbor was a quieter option than Bar Harbor, and we found this to be very true, I am so happy we stayed on "the quiet side" of Acadia Nation Forrest. The town was charming. There were many charming shops and wonderful places to eat. Laurie and John (the owners of Acadia Cottages) were super welcoming. They spent a lot of time talking with us and sharing useful information as well as travel books and maps to aid in our stay. This was especially helpful as we visited during a government shut-down and though the park was open, there was not staff at the park to offer the typical help and maps. |The cabin was lovely; very clean and decorated super cute. The bed and bedding were very comfortable.

We had a fantastic stay at Acadia Cottages. John and Laurie were very welcoming. We were impressed by the design and comfort of the cottage, the cleanliness, the thoughtful details--lovely soaps, thick towels, high quality linens, closets and hooks exactly where you need them, super comfortable bed, even an extra drying rack....we noticed it all, and we kept saying "Wow, John and Laurie truly thought of everything!" We also enjoyed walking everywhere in Southwest Harbor from the central location. We will absolutely return!

To add to the wonderful 5 star reviews of Acadia Cottages, we found our stay to be a true peaceful getaway ~ spotless, very comfortable and with everything we needed in the kitchen and bath. We stayed in cottage 3, which was newly built several years ago. Perfection! Hope to return next year. Laurie and John could not be more hospitable. Thank you for the warm welcome. Great restaurants a short walk down Main Street. We highly recommend the soft serve ice cream at Salt Shop!

Absolutely, hands down our favorite place we stayed during 8 nights in Maine. Though it is a bit of a drive from Bar Harbor, it was exactly what we wanted to come home too after a day out exploring. Quiet, comfortable and very peaceful. For us, it was an economical alternative for a 2 night stay. We would 100% recommend Acadia Cottages to anyone who likes to be away from the hustle and bustle.

Our stay at Acadia Cottages was outstanding! The property is wooded, peaceful, and very well kept. Our cottage had beautifully crafted pine paneled walls and ceilings. The kitchen and bath must have been recently updated, as everything seemed new. The unit was laid out and furnished thoughtfully with everything we needed, plus many extras. We were very comfortable after our days spent exploring Acadia National Park. Laurie and John were amazing hosts who even knew where we could purchase freshly caught lobsters!
