Abe’s Wood-Fired Pizza

Need a good pizza? Come to Abe’s. This small quaint and unassuming coffee shop serves of real wood fired pizza from his brick oven in the back. Abe makes his own dough and the pies come out with that nice chewy crust we all love. We got a margherita calzone and a veggie pizza to-go. The sauce was delicious. I’m not a fan of the overly spiced sauces you get at commercial pizza joints and Abe’s brings the simplicity of a Napoli style pizza to Morro bay. Oh and Abe and his wife are so kind too. Love supporting a local mom and pop pizza shop during these times!

I cannot overstate how good Abe's was. If you're in the area and looking for pizza, you need to be here. The pizza was absolutely fantastic. Fresh homemade dough, with a thin crust and cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce has a very pleasant tang to it and you can taste some seasonings in the background of the flavor. The pepperoni was delicious, the bell peppers and onions were fresh, and the mozzarella was incredible. All of this together made one of the most enjoyable and tasty authentic pizzas I've ever had. On top of the amazing pizza, Abe and his wife Marie are jovial, energetic, engaging, and they love to talk to you about anything and everything with a good natured humor that could bring the sun out from behind the clouds. Rustic little shop. It is a rare find. You do not expect such good Neapolitan pizza in a little town. Honestly, it is not the level of Tony’s in SF or Settebello in LV, but it is good. The owner, Abe and Maria are so much fun to talk with! If you come by, please take a seat and listen to their story! This little shop warms up my Christmas trip. I wish it will last forever.

THE BEST PIZZA, BEST ATMOSPHERE, BEST COSTUMER SERVICE!! We were a Party of 11 that came in an hour till closing, YET owner Abe and his Portuguese Queen (his wife)😁 made my family and I feel so so so welcomed and treated us like family. It was truly a memorable and FUN experience. We had SUCH a great time with so much laugher, the kids loved it!!!. All of that on top of delicious pizza?! What more could you ask for? Definitely going to make this spot a visiting staple when we come back. Thank you Abe!!

How lucky are we to have wood fired pizza that’s THIS GOOD right here in Morro Bay?! Abe is a Napoletana-style dough master and all ingredients are fresh as can be. He and Marie are the most lovely, warm hosts and visiting them is a treat in itself. This evening after a deliciously light pepperoni pizza, we devoured a special Nutella & fresh fig dessert pizza 🤩 Abe fires up the oven daily at the coffee shop right off the Morro Bay Blvd freeway exit by the roundabout—check it out!
