Giving this place three stars because I ordered sesame chicken and this is not at all sesame chicken.. its more like a chicken with broccoli but instead of broccoli just a whole lot of bean sprouts and green onion with some same seeds sprinkled on top. That’s not right and such a bummer to receive as I was looking forward to eating some sesame chicken today and after paying $17 for it just wasn’t pleasing. please take a look at what a sesame chicken recipe is because that’s not at all what this dish was or is even close to tasting like. Might as well just take it off the menu or name it something else.
I've been visiting Taste of Asia for over 20 years, with varying frequency when we moved out of State, but could always rely on their food authenticity and quality. In a recent visit for lunch I was quite disappointed after having ordered the char quay teow, a Malaysian flat noodle dish. The noodles were not flat noodles (instead were regular thin noodles) and should not have been substituted, especially for those who can tell the difference (even the description mentions flat noodles). Not what I would expect.
This is a lovely restaurant on Main in Chatham. Seating consists of small table with chairs. However the chairs lack any cushions and can be uncomfortable. The ambience is open, spacious, with big windows and dotted with lots of plants. The menu is well designed and organized Staff is friendly, attentive and helpful Food was good however in both or dishes (Chicken Thai Basil curry and Shrimp ginger scallion from the lunch special) the protein appeared to be deep fried, I would have preferred it cooked with the dish to better absorb the flavors.
Order takeout [Nasi Lemak]. The taste was ok, definitely not authentic. The portion was generous. But it tastes much better than Penang [Malaysian Restaurant] in East Hanover. The tall guy was super friendly & professional. Definitely will be back to try other dishes.
Came here for dine in for dinner, the ambiance was really nice, they had a lot of plants, very serene and calming music in the background. The servers were very calm and knowledgeable of the menu. They have a vegetarian menu also which was great. I ended up ordering the eggplant and their char kuey, a noodle dish which was very well seasoned. I would definitely come back here, very tasty although I wish they had bigger serving sizes
