19 South Main Restaurant

Well, heard there were new owners and the food/service was a substantial upgrade; but meh. It wouldnt be fair to comment on the atmosphere because we got takeout; but I did notice the place is essentially lit up by sconces and dimmed lights. Thats ok, I guess. Cozy after a day at one of the resorts. We picked up: the poutine, the arugula salad, and the fried chicken sandwich. The poutine was about as expected. Just french fires with curds chucked in, moderately melted by heat of the short rib. Not much presence of a gravy at all but I can assume the red wine cooked into the short rib was suppose to pick up the slack on that. Wow, what a cozy & delicious restaurant. A true winter vibe!! A group of friends and I came up for a ski trip for 2 nights and dined here for 2 nights. Joe, the manager, a NJ native is so friendly & welcoming. Panda & Jess are attentive, warm & made our entire dining experience! From recommending the meatloaf (A MUST TRY!!!!!) , to making delicious cocktails, to making us feel right at home miles away, 19 South Main is sure to be a stop on your way through Wilmington. Must go…. Nothing short of perfect. Second time here and always on point. Must have a pizza! The guys at the pizza over are top notch. Maybe best pizza ever! Shannon provided top notch service. Can’t wait to get back here.

Second time coming here - amazing both times! Joe was very sweet in accommodating our puppy, we sat away from other patrons. The poutine, honey chilli chicken wings, burgers and chilli are favourites of ours! The poutine is a must in a cold winters day. The restaurant also has some lovely bright views of the stream behind.

This place had real promise, but it’s clear the second you walk in that the management is terrible. Restaurant was moderately busy on a Friday night, though we got a table right away. However, it took forever for someone to come greet us. The staff was wandering around in absolute chaos, with no real sense of who’s doing what. There was an older blonde that may have been a manager who was barking at the few staff that were working. We ordered a chicken parm sub, but got meatballs and spaghetti. The person who dropped off the food goes “ya, that’s what one would expect when ordered meatball parm” . I ordered the VT cheddar burger, no cheese add bacon. It came with just bacon and nothing else on it. No onions, no jam, no aioli, no nothing. The burger, itself, was solid. Some
