ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque

Lived in rva for several years around the time ZZQ opened, never got to try it but constantly heard about it years after I left rva by friends and online. Finally tried it, will definitely come back to try it again. Service was friendly and ordering was fast, entire operation was well done. I would order the sausage and pickled veg daily if I lived in rva. Brisket was decent, not very tender, local friend said it’s usually not like that so I’ll have to try it again. Didn’t finish the pork ribs, it was too tough. Pulled pork was great but the sausage was the best out of all. You can tell the owners know what they’re doing. The food is delicious, and the Prime Rib on Sundays is delicious. The line can be long, but it is definitely worth the wait. Best BBQ east of Texas. Brisket, pulled pork, sausage...all smoked low and slow. And the homemade sides and desserts. Plan a trip to ZZQ and you'll be glad you did!

Delicious!! We got the BBQ and Seitan sandwiches with sides of mac and cheese, beets, cornbread, and banana pudding. The bbq was so moist and absolutely delicious. Wouldn’t recommend the mac and cheese, but everything else 👌 As others have mentioned, the line to order can definitely be long. But it was so worth the wait.

My wife and I decided to visit after seeing you all on DDD. We had a pound of brisket, a half pound of pork ribs, a Texas hot guts sausage link, greens and macncheese. The greens were tender but a bit sweet for my taste. Being from Texas and raised on excellent BBQ, this place represents Texas in a way that had me reminiscing childhood memories of my uncle's home made links. The brisket was moist, tender and flavorful with a great bark. The ribs had the perfect tenderness. This means "pull off" the bone. Not fall off. The macncheese was ok but, being a cook, I can be a bit snobbish🤣. The service was on point. I appreciate the portion controls and the portion integrity as they weigh your order in front of you. Finally got a chance to try this place on a Sunday, and the food was amazing! It’s a bit pricy, but make sure you arrive here EARLY. They sell out BBQ really fast the minute they open their doors since it’s a “first come, first serve” type of thing. Only downside is they don’t offer online ordering or delivery here, which sucks. Overall, be prepared for long lines of customers outside, stood in line for at least a good 20-30 mins, but it was worth the wait.
