This place is a hidden gem in Manhattan’s Chinatown! The Signature Spicy Boneless Chicken was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned with that iconic Sichuan-style numbing spice. The marinated tofu and veggie sides were also fresh and tasty, great for mixing into a bowl or taking home as a meal. What stood out to me was the quality and consistency—each item tasted freshly prepared, with clean, balanced flavors (not too oily or salty). The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining different options for first-timers. Perfect for a quick takeaway lunch, a family dinner, or even catering a gathering. Affordable, satisfying, and authentic.
Really enjoyed the hot braised dishes here — perfect for cold weather. The braised pork knuckle rice was flavorful and super comforting. Also loved the spicy beef tripe dish — the sauce is so good you can even mix it with noodles. Great value and a solid lunch spot in the neighborhood.
I’ve been back here multiple times, and honestly $10 in Manhattan for this kind of flavor is hard to beat. I tried the new marinated duck, which is steamed first and then mixed with chili oil, garlic, scallions, and sesame. It is super tender meat and soft skin, with the chili oil being the real highlight!! The spice level is mild and very friendly, but you can ask for it spicier if you want. The beef tripe dish was also great. The slices were thin, crunchy, and came with kelp, tofu skin, bamboo shoots, and black fungus. The chili oil soup is hot when dining in but comes cold for takeout, so reheating is needed. Everything was flavorful!!
First time trying Ziyan Chicken and also my first visit to this Chinatown location. Honestly, the food surprised me in the best way. I ordered the roasted duck in chili sauce, Fuqi feipian, the veggie platter, and the marinated beef. Everything tasted super authentic. I specifically love the roasted duck and marinated beef! Such a satisfying and comforting meal, and I’ll definitely be back to try more.
The food here is absolutely amazing — bold, spicy, numbing, and incredibly flavorful. It really captures the authentic taste of Sichuan cuisine, just like back home. Everything is well-seasoned and full of aroma, with that perfect balance of heat and freshness. Definitely a five-star spot, highly recommended!
