Came here with my wife after a nice walk around Watchung Res and I was very happy to find this “hole in the wall” parlor in an area I would have never visited! Food: really enjoyed the apple crumble ice cream I got which appears the be seasonal. A lot of flavor offerings, but watch out as many of them have nuts in them! Service: standard service from an ice cream parlor Ambiance: I really liked the outdoor seating and the small back room is nice, I assume the line is out of the door in the winter because the line was short.
This was our first time visiting Zitas. The staff were extremely nice and helpful even with being understaffed. They have a sign out front stating they are hiring. It was extremely busy for a Sunday evening but the staff were working really hard. Out of the 4 of us that ate the ice cream we tried 7 different flavors. I order the Highlander which I would recommend. However most of thought the ice cream was better than average but not exceptional. The portions were great, the location was convention with lots of outdoor seating and parking.
I’m not an ice cream aficionado, but I have been told I have a very refined palate. That said, I was blown away by the S’mores ice cream I had at Zita’s a few days ago. It was fresh, served with a smile and so delicious, I almost passed out. Ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but still, I can’t wait to go back and try another creamy, confectionery concoction there.
Small place that gets crowded but that line goes quick! So you know the staff is efficient. They were super nice too. I love finding these gems. This is a must visit again kind of place! I tried the pistachio ice cream and also coconut in a waffle cone. It was delicious!!
One of the best ice creams ( 🍧🍦🎂🥤)in this neighborhood and surroundings I had so far.. they have a good variety of ice creams & shakes. Summer time is pretty busy and they have a nice sitting arrangement outside. Staff is friendly and service is really quick. Be mindful that they only accept credit card on $10 💵 or above..
