Bakehouse by Joe Murphy (New Providence)

I cannot say enough good things about this place and, especially, the owner. I had ordered the Brooklyn Blackout Cake for a very special occasion — my friend’s 92nd birthday — and it’s a cake I’ve had before and absolutely love. I drove about 40 minutes one way, with traffic and an accident making it even longer, only to realize when I got home that the cake was not the one I had ordered. I called the bakery feeling understandably disappointed, and the woman who answered immediately put me on hold to speak with the owner. The owner then called me personally — and from the first moment, he was kind, calm, respectful, and genuinely caring. It’s alright! I enjoyed my chocolate cake but I wish it was just a tiny bit better. Overall, good experience. Nice to try! Would want to try more of their selection!

This place is awesome. The desserts are so tasty and delicious. We love the ginger cookie, chocolate chip cookie, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and coffee cake. This is my 2nd time visiting. This is my favorite spot now. Keep up the great work.

I came here after someone recommended Bakehouse by Joe Murphy and I’ve ordered so many cakes for different occasions. The chocolate mouse and blackout cakes are very good!!!

Stopped here randomly a few days ago and was so enamored I had to come back. Everything I’ve gotten here has been delicious. The cookies blow my mind away but the biggest standout is that chocolate cake. I’d fight someone if it meant getting another bite of it. It’ll be death by chocolate…but not for me. Whoever gets between me and my next slice better watch out.
