Zip's Diner

I ordered the monte cristo. The monte cristo part of the meal was fine but the hashbrowns they gave me were almost all half burnt i ate around the part that wasn’t completely a burnt puck a little bit ridiculous. The picture included is after eating around the parts that weren’t burnt so the part left is the part that was at the bottom. Still i shouldn’t be getting served hashbrowns that have the consistency of gravel unless i ask for them extra crispy.

I just picked up a Philly steak and cheese omelet and it came with something extra. A bunch of black, mold ridden potatoes. I'm afraid to even cut into the omelet! Roughly $19.00 omelet.

No shock here. I love diners, and I especially love old diners. The current owner told me he is the third generation of his family to operate Zip's and that Zip passed 70 ish years ago. So this is my kind of place!!! I was on my way from Hartford to southern New Hampshire and planned a breakfast stop. A quick search found Zip's listed as one of the best diners in Connecticut, and I now know why. Super friendly and quick service, great food, and reasonable prices... in a well-established, classic diner. What's not to love? Can't wait to return for a burger!!!

Although this diner was busy, it’s a spacious diner and nicely decorated. Food is very delicious, portions are big, waitress was nice and polite, and good on the price. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were on point.

Our experience at Zip’s Diner in Killingly was downright terrible, and not because of the food it was because of the absolutely horrible service. Our waitress was completely useless from start to finish. She never came over to check on us, never refilled our drinks, and acted annoyed every time we tried to get her attention. It honestly felt like we were bothering her just by existing in the restaurant. By the middle of the meal, it became ridiculous. We had to get up ourselves to grab our own to-go boxes, and then again to get our check because she clearly couldn’t be bothered to do her job. Having to chase down a waitress just to pay is absurd.
