Yonutz Donuts and Ice Cream - Boise

As soon as we walked in Audrey and Yuridia welcomed us with a smile and were so helpful. As first time customers, they thoroughly explained all the options and made suggestions. Wonderful experience in Boise and amazing treats! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.

However, a bit of a let down on the donuts.  I ended up ordering a basic donut ice cream sandwich for about $6.  Which is basically a regular donut split in half with ice cream in the middle and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.  However, for a dollar more you can get a deluxe with deluxe toppings like sprinkles, marshmallows and the like.  Also ended up ordering a BIG Donut (Salted caramel Biscoff) for $4 and ended up eating part of it.  Donuts are not made in house (I don't think. Stopped here randomly on a rainy Sunday. The place was empty so I assumed that the donuts were going to be dry. The gal working said that if I didn’t see a donut I wanted on display that she could make it in the back. We ended up getting three donuts, the Samoa, glazed, and a smiley face one. WOW! probably the best donuts that I’ve had in the treasure Valley, they were airy, pillowy and tasted super fresh. Will come back on special occasions as some of the more extravagant flavors are a bit seep.

Order the donuts from door dash- Dozen Big donuts. There photos on their website is not the same as what you get in person. I was genuinely excited to try this donut shop, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The overall flavor profile of the donuts tasted extremely artificial, and not in the fun, nostalgic way some desserts can be, but more like the lowest-quality imitation ingredients. The S’mores donut in particular had an unpleasant, almost plastic-like aftertaste that reminded me of the smell from an unboxed air mattress. Across the board, the frostings all seemed to come from the same overly sweet, artificial base, just tinted with different colors rather than distinct flavors. Today was my first time in your wonderful shop. I didn’t know that it existed until I saw it today and asked my daughter about it. Of course she knew about it and she said she really enjoys the place. I enjoyed it very much and I will be coming back again and again. As long as you keep people that are competent and friendly/welcoming, you and your business will be successful for many years to come. Brooklyn and Yuridia were very pleasant and fun.
