Yen Ching Restaurant

Tonight we ordered Twice Cooked Pork and Sizzling Happy Family. The Twice Cooked Pork sauce was unexpectedly sweet. The pork itself had good flavor and the pork fat was a plus. I should have known from the darkness of the sauce. The Sizzling Happy Family, however, was pretty good. Sizzling Happy Family sauce was not sweet and had a good flavor with fresh vegetables. Both dishes needed a little more temperature or heat to mitigate the hints of its refrigeration. Service was excellent and very prompt. The main reason for the three stars were the appetizer, Fried Wantons whose wrappers were undercooked with the filling being overcooked with an old-like taste and pasty texture. Price was great!! Staff were great!!

My husband has a wheat allergy and they are always so good to help us pick the right options. He's never had a reaction after eating there. Today we got the shrimp fried rice and snow white chicken ( both GF). 😋 Yum! Great portions and delicious.

They've always been our favorite for Chinese food in Boise and moving to Utah solidified it, like omg I wish I could find somewhere here who does egg rolls half as good. Also for some reason no other chinese restaurant does mushu pork?

Fabulous Boise staple for above great Chinese food. Will be back again soon! So fresh and delicious. We had egg rolls, crab Rangoon, mandarin spicy beef! Yummy!!!

The food here was good - I got the sweet and sour and was not disappointed. Same as the crab rangoons… they were so good. Potstickers were just as good! The service was good, but they did appear to be understaffed which is unfortunate for them. Portions are huge! Overall, good place, but there is another place i’d say is better
