Yami-Ichi

My husband and I have been looking high and low for authentic Japanese cuisine, even driving 45 minutes away from home because the reviews for Yami-Ichi were so promising, and boy were they right! We enjoyed our 14th anniversary dinner immensely, thank you. They had a special of blue fin fatty tuna that was perfection, as well as a curry nan which we had with udon and pork. I enjoyed a donburi bowl with short ribs. Honestly a really great meal. Don’t forget the potato croquettes! Please visit this family-owned restaurant, it’s a lovely, quiet and cozy space hosted by attentive and knowledgeable staff. You won’t regret it!

I love that this restaurant is family owned, the service is great, very friendly and professional. And the sushi is always good. (California roll) I wish there was more of a drink/wine selection but either way its a great place to eat!

My partner and I had a great experience here. The waiter was nice and friendly. The IPA and plum wine were delicious. The food was great, too. Partner ordered three rolls, and I ordered the katsu-don which was cooked well and tender. Will definitely come back here again.

This place is great. Ordered my first Japanese ipa and 3 rolls to go with it. The food was spot on. The service was also very good, our server was very attentive and polite. Definitely a great place to eat and I would recommend any day.

My wife and I went yesterday to this new Japanese spot and so glad I went (My 1st time/wife 2nd time). The food was so good and this is the only place that I totaly finished the miso soup lol. We got the ika butter, green tea drink, karaage chicken, black seewed salad, japanese sausage, wife got ramen noodles and I got the pork tonkatsu. Everything was so good even the green tea ice cream for dessert was good. The place is great, owner and chef created a real authentic restaurant usually only found in NYC but this is in Mahopac. Also they have sushi lol.
