Wild Magnolia

Recently stopped in for a late dinner as we arrived into town late (traveled down from Michigan). We had low expectations as the place didn't come recommended by our inn host, it was a challenge to get to through the parking lot and it looked like they may be closing early due to an empty dining room. We were pleasantly surprised when we were greeted by a friendly server (I think her name was Pam) who took great care of us. Our food was phenomenal! The cook, Teresa, had worked a double and was ready to leave but you would never know it by the job she did with our meal. We ordered the sweet potato fries and the open face po boy sandwich with mac & cheese. Best po boy I've have ever had!

My partner and I had dinner here, and we were unaware that it was karaoke night. It was a good source of entertainment. However, the food wasn't top tier that night, and the service wasn't either. We asked several times for condiments and refills that were long awaited, and felt like they could've done better with the quality of food and service. Locals seem to have more leverage there than passersby. I feel like everyone should feel welcome and should get the same kind of hospitality and service from the staff.

The food was ok. The fish sandwich which is described as huge is not. It was seasoned and fried well. There was just something off about it. The service was good. My main complaint was the cleanliness. The restaurant overall did not seem very clean and the bathroom definitely needed help. Would probably not eat here again unless they did a major clean overhall.

First visit! Made a reservation for my girlfriends birthday. Asked if they could make a small cake for dessert. Had no expectations, but they agreed happily! We arrived to be greeted by a terrific waitress. She walked us to our table that was decorated with tablecloth and balloons! WOW! The appetizer and meal was delicious and service was great. I was expecting a modest cake for 2 at best, but was presented with a full size cake (delicious) with candles and "Happy Birthday" on the cake! The staff followed the cake with kind words. All at a very reasonable price. Wow! We will definitely be back!

When you first walk in, they greet you with a smile and then sit you. They get your drink order and then give you a few minutes before you order. Coming to your table every 2 minutes to check in on you. The presentation of the food is amazing. When you bite into it, it melts in your mouth. My husband got the Chicken Kentucky and I got the French Dip. If you are in Martinsville check it out.. I will definitely be coming back.
