Oakdale Inn

The corner room where I stayed was both mold and toxin free. That alone would merit, in my book, a five star experience. In fact, so sensitive to mold am I, that I should be paid to sleep overnight in any residence to determine whether or not mold is seeping into the airspace of a room - a problem that most people are unaware of and hotel managers are in denial of. Furthermore, the walls, the floors, the furniture, the carpets - everything has either already off gassed or it never needed to be off-gassed because they were made before toxic chemicals and fire retardant carcinogens were applied to all furniture, bedding, and carpeting, etc. In other words for anyone who suffers from environmental illness, this place is an hotel dream come true. A group of six of us golfers converged in Martinsville to play in a golf tournament. The Bed & Breakfast is perfectly placed and offers a close drive to key locations in town. Erin was the perfect host. Communication prior to arriving was seamless, her breakfast was immaculate, and the hospitality was quite comfortable. We recommend The Oakdale Inn for any and all occasions. 5 Stars

My husband and I stayed at the Oakdale Inn in March. It was a great place to lodge. We loved everything about it. The house is beautiful and the innkeeper/property manager Erin was the best. She was very hospitable and made our stay very pleasant. She prepared a fabulous breakfast both mornings. The personal handwritten note and the loaded snack trays in the room were amazing. I didn't want to mention the extra special thing that was done for the reason of our stay, but I want to say thank you again. I am a city girl and don't want someone to take advantage of your kindness. I highly recommend lodging here and we will come again and again. You will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a night along our way through Martinsville and it was an absolutely lovely time! The property is beautiful and excellently maintained. The house is spacious and tastefully kept up to accentuate the original features. And such a warm reception! The innkeeper Erin was friendly and welcoming, and served us an amazing freshly cooked breakfast complete with delicious homemade buttermilk scones. We would certainly stay again!

We stayed one night at the Oakdale Inn en route to Rooster Walk and had a great experience. Erin was warm and welcoming. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious and made for a perfect start to our day. Communication and check-in was easy. Highly recommended for a peaceful, well-kept stay.
