I had been following this restaurant for a long time since I came to Boston area, so I was so excited to be there. As “Uncle Roger” says, “not bad, not bad!” Creamy Tum Yum Noodle Soup: The Tum Yum soup broth was exactly authentic. It provided a strong taste of both tangy and spicy, exciting my taste buds and increasing my appetite. As for the ingredients, shrimps were fresh and bouncy, char-siu slices were crunchy but not greasy, while the lime added extra zing to the soup. But to be frank, unfortunately I could still taste the gamey smell from the refrigerated pork, even though it had been that heavily seasoned.
We were looking for soup on a cold snowy day and found this place online. Small restaurant just outside of Central Square. We ordered vegetable spring rolls, the Khao Soi and Vegetarian Noodle soups. Everything was incredibly delicious!
- Pork Belly Skewer ($8.95): The pork belly was very tender/juicy and flavorful. - Khao Soi Chicken ($15.95): This was a unanimous favorite. The broth was thick and rich/creamy. - Creamy Tom Yum Noodle Soup ($15.95): This one was also good because the soup had a bold flavor, but I would not describe it as creamy, so the naming is misleading. - Chicken Clear Noodle Soup ($14.95): This was a basic, clean soup that I would have enjoyed more had I not tried the other two flavor-packed soups. There was a lot of chicken, though.
Great restaurant with even better company! What A Soup provided us comfort from the cold while also providing comfort in our bellies. We got the giant shumai, chicken clear noodle soup, and the brothless soup and everything was delicious! Ate Trader Joe’s chocolate and gingerbread afterwards there and it was a blast 😎
The soup was PHENOMENAL. Definitely come here if you are in town. This is the best place especially during cold weather. We got the seafood and chicken and some veggie spring rolls. The price is everything! I mean this size portion for $14?? And the servers were very sweet. I 10/10 recommend and would love to come again.
