We sat at the bar this past Thursday and received great, attentive service. The beers were excellent, specifically the Hefeweizen and Colorado Pale Ale. For food, the Westbound Double Cheeseburger was served warm with perfectly melted cheese, although the Mac 'n Cheese and fries were unfortunately lukewarm. The Mac 'n Cheese itself was extremely cheesy, but be aware that the green onion topping is very potent and adds a strong oniony flavor to the entire dish. Regarding parking, finding a spot was easy enough, but the QR codes on the nearby signs wouldn't scan. Having to pay to park anywhere near the restaurant, including the rear lot, is a bit of a downside. We would likely visit more often if some type of parking validation was offered, but overall, it was still a good experience and we

Listen, sometimes a fantastic service experience just makes your visit incredible. I am an ex-bartender, and I so appreciate it when it happens. It is the smallest things, but noticed and enjoyed. After a long drive back from Winter Park, we stopped by here for lunch. We sat at the bar, and Kasey (sorry if spelled wrong, and I should have asked) was our bartender. She gave us perfect service, complete with efficiency, humor, sports talk, food advice, drink advice, etc. So, hope you get her as your bartender, and on to the other stuff. I had the DDH IPA, wife had the cider and then the Sangria, and all were solid, although she liked the Sangria better. I was in a burger mood, and got the mac and cheese as a side. Wife got the Philly with the green chili as a side. One note on her

This place is an absolute must if you’re in Idaho Springs! My husband and I were in town at the Indian hot springs and popped in for dinner! He had the Bison burger with the green chile cheese fries and wow that chile was delicious! Also which is what they are known for! I had the Italian melt with fries and it was amazing, full of flavor! I cannot forget to mention the stunning mural of Bison in the primary dining area!

What a great brewery to stop by! Inside the small town of Idaho Springs lies Westbound and Down Brewery. Great place to grab a bite and a beer. I ordered their bison burger and had it cooked medium rare per the servers recommendation and it was so tasty! My girlfriend ordered their chili which she loved but be warned it is VERY spicy because of the included fresno peppers which are quite potent this season. If you're a fan of spicy definitely get the chili, otherwise if spicy scares you stay away!

We had a great experience at Westbound & Down! I ordered the Glider Cider, the chicken sandwich, and a side of green chili cheese fries. The chicken sandwich was delicious and above average with a flavorful rub and house made pickles. And let me tell you, the chili cheese fries were the best thing I’ve eaten on our trip to Colorado. They had a pulled pork green chili and beer cheese. The servers were attentive and friendly; the seating was comfortable; and the drinks were good too!
