Viva La Vida Mexican Bar & Grill

First experience at Viva La Vida. It's a nice spot in the Waterworks area. FOOD: The food was good and reasonably priced. The drinks were OK. Not enough alcohol for the price. SERVICE: No complaints. The waiter was very attentive, especially for a busy Thursday night. It was packed, however no wait time for a table which was a plus. ATMOSPHERE: The decor is very pretty. I went around Valentines Day, so it was well decorated for the holiday.

Honestly a very awesome experience where the food is simply amazing, not one item under delivered-rather every item over delivered. We got the Birria beef empanadas that on there own were amazing, but once you put it in that sauce it took it to the next level, 10/10 would recommend as a starter or even an entree. I myself got the carne asada as that was the dish recommended to me, and this is undoubtedly the best carne asada I ever had and it’s not even close. So much flavor in every bite, as well as rice, beans, and some fire Mexican street corn on the side. An absolute powerhouse of authentic flavor. Looking for a unique experience? This is it! We had a fantasticBirthday dinner here and the staff know how to celebrate. Our waiter, Joe, was attentive, knowledgable and had some great recommendations. The food was simply delicious (we had the deluxe taquitos, street corn bites and pgh burrito). I really enjoyed the Coco Fuego roll and the birria empanadas. Will definitely be back. Can't wait to try their brunch!

Warm chips & salsa right away, had to get the white queso to go with it. The shrimp quesadilla was so delicious. And also shared the surf & turf burrito which was so flavorful & huge! Everything was fresh & we had great service from Danel & Manuel!! The atmosphere is great & there were big parties celebrating birthdays & girls nights. Will definitely be back to try more.
