If you’re looking for an authentic Italian sandwich, this is the place. The mozzarella is incredibly fresh, and honestly, everything they make is something I adore. I also highly recommend the hot bar & the penne vodka is amazing.
Best Italian-American food in the county. Hot food made from scratch every morning (classics like chicken scarpiello, eggplant parm, sausage & peppers, grilled veggies) with massive flavor and heartiness. The market itself feels old-school and designed with a great attention to detail… fresh mozzarella, imported meats and cheeses, pastas, desserts, cannolis, gelato are all here. What makes it special is the people. Orlando, Jonathan, Oscar, and the whole crew run this place with heart and serious pride in their craft. I’ve been coming bere 20 years. Their catering’s incredible too, it wins over rooms.
I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and the place doesn’t change. The sandwiches are solid, especially anything with chicken cutlet. A reliable place for lunch to grab and go. Good quality food and ingredients.
We recently highlighted them in our Greenwich Food Show, Tell'em Mike Sent You. We had their 3 top sandwiches, the Villa Nuova, the Marco Polo, and the Italian Stallion. every sandwich was incredible. Everything is very simply prepared, but with the best ingredients being the star of the show you can't go wrong. Then you have the seeded Arthur Ave bread as an exclamation point?! Tremendous. The delicious finished product is a testament to Orlando and the team being extremely picky in the curation of their product. We capped off the show with an espresso and freshly filled cannoli. When I'm in there it brings me back to being in Italy, slowing down, and enjoying ever bite. If it's your first time, I recommend the Marco Polo with chicken cutlet on the seeded bread pressed. Best deli in Connecticut. Everything is made fresh by the owner. The baked goods are incredible. The mozzarella is better than what we had in Italy. Highly recommend the Cos Cob Crusher — chicken cutlets are made fresh and the owner picks up the bread every morning from Arthur Ave. Never had something we didn’t like from here. 11/10.
