Scotty is a great host, my room was fantastic and beautiful furnishings, very nice bathrooms in all of the rooms. The Butler, Kimo, was extremely helpful and genuinely enjoyed his profession. I was really impressed with the breakfast presentation on China dishes from the 1880s, it really added that special touch. I am a light eater for breakfast and had a muffin and toast and coffee and was impressed by the presentation for such small treats, it made my morning and inspired me to enjoy the food and take my time. I will try and include photos of the host Scotty who played the piano for me, and photos of my breakfast. Note, I am not able to attach photos, but I will compare the breakfast presentation to the TV show Downton Abbey, or Titanic, something that Queen Elizabeth 2 would have been s

The host, Scotty, was very helpful, and his butler, Kimo, really enjoys his profession. Kimo showed me the security codes and carried my luggage to my room, showed me my armoire and hung my clothes up for me, I always have my clothes on my own hangers when I travel and I loved having them in the armoire. The home is beautifully furnished, very expensive taste. My favorite part was the presentation of the breakfast, it reminded me of something from Downton Abbey or Titanic, it was presented on China dishes from the 1880s, and it really made me want to sit and enjoy the experience (which I did). I am a light eater for breakfast and had a muffin and toast with coffee, I'll include photos of how nice the presentation was for such simple items. I stayed in the Eliza Ayers room, and it was nice

My wife and I recently stayed at the Villa DeWolf for a long weekend visit to see family in Jacksonville. The villa is the restored mansion of the wealthy Ayres family, who were very prominent in the mid-1800s (and friends of Abraham Lincoln). Mr. DeWolf has spared no expense in restoring the mansion to its former glory. It is like staying in a museum filled with family portraits, period pieces and works of art. In addition, you will be met and waited on by a butler, who will provide a tour of the mansion and historical information. I would particularly recommend the Villa Dewolf for those who have a keen interest in U.S. history and the time to explore the mansion and environs.

Staying at this breathtaking property was a highlight of our visit to Jacksonville for our son’s graduation. As Canadians, we had mixed feelings about visiting the US in the current political situation, but the kindness and hospitality of the owner (including two delicious homemade breakfasts) and learning the history of the property, as well as anecdotes from his fascinating life, reminded us of the best qualities of the United States and the American people. Our unforgettable 2 night stay felt like a real getaway and was good for the soul. We enjoyed going for walks on the beautiful, tree-lined streets and visiting small businesses in the area. I highly recommend Villa DeWolf to anyone looking for a special experience, not just a generic hotel. You will never forget it.

Villa DeWolf was a nice surprise on our recent trip home to see family in Jacksonville, IL. From the warm greeting at arrival with the owner Jethro and the butler Kimo, we knew we were in for a treat. Service was top notch and 5 star all the way. Our suite was clean, comfortable, and spacious with beautiful furnishings and en suite bathroom. The tour of the mansion and the history as told by the owner was a bonus treat as we learned the beginnings of the home and history of Jacksonville. The breakfast was amazing and delicious both days. We found this place on accident but will certainly be returning on our next trip to see the family. They also do weddings, events, and rent the entire house for your next party or event. I highly recommend VILLA DEWOLF for the ultimate Jacksonville, IL sta
