Veranda House

I just returned from staying 4 nights at The Veranda House and I was very impressed. The house was very clean and very well maintained. Yvonne, the owner, was gracious and an excellent cook. Her breakfasts were wonderful! The best French toast I've ever had. She visited us in the TV room in the evening to see how our day was but only stayed a few minutes to make sure everything was good or if she could help us in any way. Our room was a twin in the front of the house so it got some traffic noise but wasn't unbearable. The other rooms are doubles and are in the back of the house. The room and bath were spotless. The bathroom was small but serviceable and in good condition. Someone mentioned she played her personal TV located in the kitchen too loud and that was true. But we asked

This was our first B&B experience.....and it was wonderful. ||The building is quaint and clean, filled with beautiful antiques. ||||The B&B has 5 rooms, and only the first night it was full. We stayed in the Ivy room on the second floor and only heard the smallest bits of noise from other people coming in. ||||The room was a touch small, but we had a queen bed and a love seat along with a large closet. The bathroom was spectacular, spacious with a Jacuzzi and lots of bubble bath! ||||Breakfast is served at 8:30 am sharp, which I enjoyed, great initiative to get an early start on the day. We shared one large table with everyone and it created a great way to meet the others occupants and learn about things to do in the area. My husband and I stayed at Veranda House overnight. It was a very beautiful and comfortable stay. Our hostess Yvonne was so lovely! So made us an amazing breakfast! I can't wait to visit again!

I have just returned from 3 nights in Rhinebeck and simply want to salute the Veranda House for a most welcoming and comfortable stay. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the bed was comfortable and the routine around keys uncomplicated. Add to that a welcoming hostess, outstanding breakfasts and the good company one tends to encounter in establishments such as this and you have the ingredients for a wonderful stay. My only difficulty was making the wi-fi work satisfactorily, but this was a minor quibble on a leisure trip.

I had my second visit to the Veranda house this past Spring and it was great to come back to see Yvonne and enjoy the peaceful beauty of her inn (just a short walk from the town of Rhinebeck). There is a wonderful breakfast served in an inviting dining space where it is easy to sit and engage in conversation with other guests. ||The inn is easy to access from the thruway and close enough to all the special places in and near Rhinebeck. Veranda house is truly an authentic old fashioned B&B!
