Vanguard Motel

Cold AC. Excellent front desk staff. Older motel. Could use some touch ups in the bedrooms but otherwise great find in a small town. Convenient location and tasty food next door at Carrols. Pool was closed but looked well maintained. Charlie was a great host. We would definitely start again

Clean, comfy bed, quiet, powerful shower. Probably the nicest economy hotel we have experienced. No frills, but price reflects this. Spent 2 nights. Charlie at front desk very helpful. Parking is at entrance to you room door. T.V. selections adequate.

An unexpected surprise in the best way. Yes, it is a dated motel, but cute and quaint nonetheless. The owners are kind and take great care of their business and customers. The best example of what they represent... this morning the owners were outside working on their cute little flower garden. Who does that in this day and age at a business? Lovely people and place to hang your hat while traveling.

We went to Texas for vacation, but at that time there were the College Football Playoffs and a lot of people or fans traveled to Bryan / College Station, Texas. So, most of the hotels around were fully booked. Some hotels have availability, but they were like $450 and above per night. Which was insane. We didn't have a choice but to book Vanguard Motel for 3 days. Our stay was a torture. Too noisy. You will hear the train and vehicles all day, all night, and the AC makes loud noises as well. The sink and vanity mirror that were supposed to be in the bathroom were outside the bathroom. So, it became a part of the bedroom.😅 The layout / design was so weird. The whole room's floor was filthy. It didn't look dirty, but when you get out of the shower without slippers on, you'll end up with disg
