Umatilla Public Library

We’re visiting family for the month and decided to check out their local library for our 4 kids, aged 1 year, 3 yr, 6yr, and 10 years old. We’ve popped in for their story time for infants and toddlers (Wednesdays at 10am) the past two weeks and enjoyed it. I’ve been to a number of libraries and absolutely love the setup of the kid area here. I love that it’s basically its own separate area behind a set of doors, so you don’t have to be stressed about your kids’ noise level while they get to enjoy the library too. I also love that the kid area is then further segmented into two adjoining rooms where the bigger kids can have their own space from the smaller kids area. Because of the layout I was able to allow my 6 and 10 year old to be in the bigger kid space looking at books for theirselv

I used their facilities to print documents on several occasions and found Brandy to be a delight! She was extremely helpful and very pleasant. I accidentally left my wallet yesterday and as soon as I walked in today, Brandy remembered me and handed it to me with everything in it, including the cash. I can’t say enough about what a pleasure it is to have this gem in Umatilla!

This library has the some of the rudest customer service associates and they violated my right by demanding for my ID to use the PUBLICLY funded computers and on a different day the bigger dude with the glasses got an attitude with me bc he had to get up and fix the coin machine for the printer due to it eating my money then he refused to say one word to me after I thanked him multiple times

They have a very nice little bookstore with great prices (fill a bag 🎒 of books 📚 for $3 and you can't beat that!).
