Twisted Pig Ale & Smokehouse

Great local spot. I was a little skeptical at first because it was empty when we got there, but the food blew me away! The wings were perfectly crispy and juicy. The reuben was great, and the HUSHPUPPIES, best I've ever had. The crab dip was a little underseasoned for my taste, but I added some of their hot sauce, and it was great! The sauces, sweet heat and Carolina (north, not south) were perfection. Will 100% be going back!

This little place is tucked into what I call an older part of Portsmouth. It's a neighborhood sports bar w/typical bar food mixed w/BBQ plates.There are 2 pool tables available for your inner MN fats..lol It's a Commanders bar which I why went. Plenty of TV's for the size of the bar. Outdoor patio that also has a TV. The patio is partially covered. Lots of good specials during the week & nice specials for football season. Owner is engaged & friendly. Service was good, drinks were made well. I had the 6 wings special that they offer on football Sunday. They were a good size, fried to perfection & their in- house made bourbon BBQ sauce was amazing! I enjoyed watching the game w/fellow fans! Laid back atmosphere. I will go back there.

I am very particular about my food, and I’m telling you right now I’ve never had wings this good. I ordered the garlic parmesan wings, and the dinner salad with the smoked chicken on top and the chicken is phenomenal. All of the vegetables were very crisp and fresh in the salad as well. I will definitely be back again and again. The service was amazing as well, I wish I would’ve caught their name so I could mention who they were but absolutely fantastic ladies.

The server was top tier...but the food was generally salty. Nacho cheese salty, crab dip salty..my daughter had a burger but I didnt try it. The fries were good though. The drink...it was good and strong but well balanced. But again, salty. Not sure if I will go back.

Great food, but they were out of wings and pulled chicken. Not a good first impression. Mac and pulled pork bowl 10/10. Dont go to have a conversation with someone, you cant hear yourself think. Lower the Mic rockstar
