My husband and I recently stayed 3 nights at the Glencoe Inn in Portsmouth, VA, during a week-long anniversary trip to the Chesapeake Bay area. Anne, the owner of the inn, has a wealth of knowledge about the area and after talking with her, we ended up visiting two places - the Mariner's Museum in Newport News and St. Luke's Church in Smithfield - that weren't part of our original vacation plans. Both were fabulous and we were thrilled that Anne had recommended both! Anne treats you like family and occasionally her daughter and grandson will stop by in the evening to chat or in the morning to have breakfast with you. Be sure to ask Anne's grandson, Colin, to play his violin for you - he is amazing! Glencoe Inn is a charming older home which is not perfect and in need of some repairs, but d

Wonderful hospitality, delicious fare, and beautiful accommodations. Anne is the most lovely hostess, always going above and beyond to serve her guests.

Just a terrific bed and breakfast! Wonderful place to stay!!! We have stayed here 3 times and can't wait to go back! Ms. Anne is a lovely hostess who is dedicated to making your stay the best. The rooms are great and the beds are very comfortable. And the breakfast is scrumptious, and the location is perfect! If you are looking for in Olde Towne, definitely pick The Glencoe Inn!

Very cozy Bed & Breakfast in old town Portsmouth. We stay here for a week every year during an event in town. Anne makes it feel like an 'home away from home'. Amazing home cooked breakfast in the morning. The house is old and charming and we just love Anne and her place, nothing fancy but just nice.
