Tu Cafeteria

First I should say food is great. I tried the Cuban sandwich and the mini empanadas and they were great. Not sure how the mini empanadas are called, because the girl behind the counter did not tell me. Which brings me to second point of my review. If I could give negative stars for service, I would. It was so bad. Completely inattentive, on the phone all the time, could not explain the menu, struggles to work with their payment system, cannot give a paper receipt... the list goes on If this is a family business, my advice to them is to fire the daughter or niece or whatever relation the girl behind the counter is. You will come ahead more if you pay her to not work there. Food was great and I normally return to places with good food even if the service is average. But I would not return

We visited Tu Cafeteria recently and unfortunately the experience felt uncomfortable from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was not welcoming at all—it honestly felt like we were bothering the person working there. I understand this is a startup, but it didn’t seem prepared or ready to receive customers. The space is very small with limited seating, and the tables felt more like outdoor patio furniture than indoor dining. It was also very cold inside, with only a small portable heater that didn’t really help. We ordered two sandwiches—a Cuban and a ham and cheese. When we asked what comes on the sandwiches, the response was “whatever you want on it,” followed by “salad,” which was confusing. Tu Cafeteria is a gem with prepared dishes and various Empanadas ready plus a full menue of Cuban options.

Just ate here for the first time. I got beef and chicken and cheese; perfect. I will be back weekly, as I work nearby. Thanks for having me!!
