I cannot say enough good things about this place! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed like family. Every dish was bursting with flavor. The Geba weta is rich and comforting, and the vegetarian platter had an incredible variety of lentils, greens, and stews that were all cooked to perfection. If you’ve never tried Ethiopian food before in Alexandria area, this is the perfect place to start. And if you’re already a fan, prepare to be impressed. Highly recommend!

The injera is perfectly fermented — soft, tangy, and absolutely authentic — and the tibs, misir, and doro wat are packed with bold, complex flavors that transport you straight to Addis Ababa. What makes Tsedey truly special is the combination of a sit-down restaurant and a grocery section. After your meal, you can stock up on berbere, niter kibbeh, teff flour, and other hard-to-find Ethiopian ingredients to recreate the magic at home. The injera is so moist. The veggie platter is so full of flavor. You can definitely taste the Ethiopian spices, with just the right amount of heat. Best injera and veggie platter in the DMV! Check out their market. I keep their berbere spice and red lentils stocked.

This place is amazing! First of all, I love that the veggie combo can come with fried fish! Not all places sell them together which is kind of annoying. The sambusa was flaky and delicious. The food was fresh and the fish was nice size, meaty and WELL SEASONED. Come here if you’re looking to enjoy your food and you aren’t in a rush to do so.

The food here is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend the Geba Weta! Everything we have had here so so fresh, flavorful, and extremely delicious. Complimets to your Chef's, they are Balè Moya (professionals)!
