Toucan Food & Custard

Outstanding !! Pita for the sandwich was exceptional!Very flavorful was the meat for the Gyro and Shawarma. They were so filling we had to go into town and walk around so we could come back for the awesome custard afterwards. 😃 sorry we didn’t take better pictures. I normally do not post things. But we will definitely plan on going back there when we visit that area again. And both sandwiches were that good?

You come here because you're tired of Culver's mid-tier custard. If you deeply appreciate the creamy taste of frozen custard over ice cream, skip the "true blue" and head to Toucan's. While there order yourself something a little less mainstream with their Greek inspired items. You'll love the taste of anything you get! On your way out though, feel free to thank the owners who are there every shift, Jackie and Sulley. They love everyone of their customers and employees alike! Toucans is one of those places I am really happy to have nearby. The service has always been great, and you can tell the food is made to order, which makes a big difference. I also like that the menu goes beyond the usual burger and fries. You can get the standard favorites, but they also have gyros and shawarma, which keeps things interesting. Solid local spot.

Wow! We wanted custard after walking around Port Washington and google suggested Toucan. I had an Almond Joy custard. Slivers of coconut, flakes of chocolate, roughly chopped almonds and vanilla custard. It was amazing! Will definitely stop by next time we are passing through.

We enjoy having Tucan as one of the local places to get take out food. Generally, on nights we don't want to cook, we usually prefer to get take out and eat at home while watching a movie, or binge-watch one of our favorite tv shows; and Tucan fits the bill for us. We can order online and pickup when it is ready. Sometimes there is a little wait for the food, and the prices are a tad higher than comparable restaurants (i.e. Culver's just down the road, which we also go to); but we don't mind because the quality has always been very good, and they have options not available closeby. I would recommend this as a place to check out if you are looking for a good selection to choose from in a small town setting. The basics are definitely covered with the hot dog, hamburger, chicken, and ice
