Togo's Marquette's Original Submarine Sandwich

Togo’s is a fantastic local sub shop and a clear standout in Marquette. The menu is expansive with both hot and cold subs, including classic favorites and house specials. We ordered the Torpedo (a hot special) and a plain turkey and cheese—both were excellent. The 3-cheese Italian bread was especially good—fresh baked, soft, and loaded with flavor. No upcharge for premium bread either, which was a nice surprise. Toppings were fresh, meats and cheese were flavorful and well-portioned, and the overall value was great—two 9-inch subs came out to under $25. My husband was dying for me to give it a go and needless to say, I’m not impressed at all. The sandwich bread tastes a bit doughy, chicken tastes like they pulled it from a freezer bag and tossed it in a microwave. Also, I can’t even hold it, I’m just eating it from the wrapper, I wish I had a fork. But the sandwich wasn’t even the bad part of the visit OR the reason I felt the need to leave a review. The reason I felt that need was solely on the guy running the register. He had a poor attitude, we walked up and he didn’t even seem like he wanted to be there and I get it, I used to work at McDonald’s for 4.5 years, it can be an absolute nightmare, but that doesn’t excuse the rude manner in which he presented himself. After reading the reviews, I decided to go here instead of Jimmy John's. What a great choice. I got the cheesesteak, and it was uniquely delicious. Not your typical chopped ribeye. It's more of a thicker sliced possible bottom round or sirloin. I got mine with onions, hot celery, and hot olives, which gave it just enough heat. The bread is soft and fresh. $11 for a large hot sandwich is a steal, don't tell them they could charge more. Overall I will be back, I'm in town once a month. Also the drive thru window is pick up only no placing orders, I went at 1145 on a Friday amd waited 15 minutes for my sub.

TOGOs has been phenomenal for 95% of my experiences... I've eaten here or had take-out an estimated 100x 🫣 MUST TRY. My photos are from the sign in the Mens Bathroom 😅🤷🏼‍♂️

Togo's has an amazing selection of sandwiches, and in our first visit we ordered 4 different types, including Italian, club, egg salad, meatball. We customized the sandwiches, and our order was placed as a pickup since we are still in pandemic times and the lobby was closed for dining in. The staff was very friendly and personable both on the phone and in person when picking up the food. The prices were surprisingly low, too! When we got the food home, everyone found that their sandwiches had been customized perfectly, and the quality / taste of the sandwiches was excellent. Togo's is now in our regular rotation of restaurants.
