Tikal Mayan Food

Amazing food! This is the best Guatemalan food I've had outside of Guatemala. We had the kak'ik, pepian, the enchiladas, and the atol de elote, everything was delicious, authentic, and very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is cozy, everyone was friendly and service was fast and efficient. I will def be coming back to this place and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to try Guatemalan food!

We ordered four pupusas and rice with milk. Very friendly and attentive service. Great spot to remember and celebrate Guatemalan culture.

It was a solid experience overall. The food was good and the service was friendly. While it wasn’t a “wow” experience, it felt like a reliable mom-and-pop restaurant. Given the price level, it offers good value. I would recommend it to others.

Absolutely THE best Guatemalan food we have had in New York! Prices were fair and portions were generous. We have been several times and nothing has disappointed yet. The tamales tasted just like those from Guatemala City! Super traditional flavors and dishes. Incredibly nice service, great space. As a heads-up, the restaurant can look like it is closed from the sidewalk when looking inside, maybe because of the lighting. Double-check the hours and give the door a try, they are probably open!

Such a great addition to the neighborhood, and Manhattan. Good Guatemalan food is hard to find and this place nails it. Having traveled to Guatemala a few months ago, I can say everything here is authentic. For our first time here, we went all in on the smaller dishes - a tortilla, papusa, tamale, and Birria tacos. All were amazing but if I had to give special mention to just one, it would be the tortilla - so crispy with such great flavors. Next time we won’t be ordering only one to share! I also look forward next time to trying their pepian!
