Theo's Downtown Diner

This place is my favorite hidden gem of New Milford. The breakfasts are so good and the service is outstanding. I always get the omelette and toast with no butter and it's been perfect everytime. (Usually places will forget and add the butter to the toast anyways, but I've never had a problem here!) The staff is great, the omelettes are hot, and the coffee is flavorful. Bonus points if you love Gilmore Girls :)

Fans of the Gilmore Girls tv show who wish they could transport to Luke’s coffee shop in Star’s Hollow can get their wish at Theo’s in New Milford. Yes, it’s cute and has that Luke’s vibe but the food is fantastic! We ate breakfast and the portions are enormous. My breakfast sandwich on a hard roll and home fries were delicious and my daughter’s chocolate chip pancakes and fruit bowl were also scrumptious. Friendly service and a real hometown feel make this as close to Luke’s as you can get

Great little diner, nicer than average but not modern or pretentious. Service was super fast and friendly. Even grumpy, coffee-starved patrons are served with patience and a smile. My breakfast sandwich was huge, delicious, and a fantastic pre-covid value.

The food is fine. I took a star off for the prices. The service was not good. The waitress set down the food and never checked on us or refilled my water. Lame. The atmosphere, though! Kyooot! It looks like Luke's from Gilmore Girls in there. We had come to Connecticut for a Gilmore Girls Fall Break Roadtrip and in that respect, this place did not disappoint. We even bought Luke's t-shirts, which, ironically, Luke would definitely disapprove of! 🤣
