The Wharf

The food was very good. I ordered the peppercorn chicken, and it was really delicious. The sauce on top of the chicken was amazing and added a lot of flavor to the dish. The seasonal vegetables also had great flavor and were not plain at all. The mashed potatoes really completed the dish! the service was amazing plus the outdoor sitting it was a very nice and calm.

12/27/2025: We stopped by the old town during our VA-MD-DC hike and decided to go to The Wharf for some seafood. The restaurant is located in the old town. We were the first customers there before noon. We ordered hubby a drink of Bourbon Spiced Cider, then an appetizer platter for two, a bowl of New England clam chowder, and a Crabcakes Benedict. Everything came very good and delicious! We were happy with our meals.

Surprised to see a 4.4 on Google reviews. It's definitely better than that. It was a beautiful afternoon and the start of Fall Oyster Week. My family enjoyed Oysters on the half shell, Rockefeller and Baked. We added shrimp cocktail, lobster rolls and an appetizer platter. Sprinkle in some cabernet, vodka martinis and a couple area beers and you cannot go wrong. We were lucky enough to have a local musician entertaining us and spreading some cheer.

On 10/6/25, I brought my daughter here to celebrate her birthday. We came here from North Carolina. Our waitress was great. Service was attentive & prompt. The Mussles and Roasted Oysters were delicious. The crab soup was really good as well. Although it was only 3 pieces of small crab meat in it. However, we both ordered the Crab stuffed Flounder. It was old and spoiled. Neither of us could eat it. It was obvious that it wasn’t fresh and was spoiling. It tasted and smelled like rotting trash… literally. We were both so disappointed. Never again.

We had the most delicious meal here. The staff could not have been nicer. We were entertained by our bus boy and he was a hoot. Drinks were yummy too. It was my sisters birthday and the gave her a delicious dessert!! We'll be back!
