The Tavern at Beekman Arms

I had a great lunch at the Beekman Arms. The good was very good, but the atmosphere of the old building and the support attentive service take the crown. The greenhouse area at the front of the building was really nice, and inside the solid wood rooms near the bar also looked very cozy. Paul, the waiter, checked in on me regularly. The mushroom toast with salad was pretty filling and tasty, and the turkey pot pie stew with biscuit was really comforting. The cheesecake was fine, I prefer it creamier.

We went to here for my brother in laws birthday. Our meals were excellent. I had the salmon. It was beyond terrific. Our server and hostess made us feel like family. Highly recommend.

Wonderful food and atmosphere. Our party had lamb shanks, butternut squash ravioli, Dutch turkey pot pie and the pork chop. All were great, and the clam chowder was killer. Nice selection of regional brews on draft. Original tavern opened 1766 and the atmosphere is great: all dark wood, low ceiling, muskets hanging on the wall, etc. I've had the beef pot roast before and can also recommend it. Wait staff were friendly and efficient so I left over 25% for a tip. Thanks!

It was difficult to assign a rating to the Beekman Arms Tavern. We went for lunch on a cold December day, and the historical ambiance was wonderful. Most of the restaurant (not the greenhouse seating) was cozy and historic - think dark woods, cozy booths and tables, low ceilings - very Colonial Williamsburg. The service was punctual and friendly. So far, so good. Now the food…disappointing given our expectations. It wasn’t bad by any means, but uninspired and vastly under seasoned. We ordered the turkey pot pie as one of the entrees, and for the first time in 25+ years I found myself grabbing the table salt and pepper to give it some flavor - any flavor. I went with my wife and two other couples. We had made reservations and were seated immediately. The woman who greeted us was friendly and professional. We all had the brunch buffet. All of the food was delicious. They had options for both vegetarians and meat lovers. I especially enjoyed the omelets that were freshly made with your requested ingredients. Having limitless mimosas was a nice touch. But of course, since we were driving, we just had one. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He came back several times to refill our waters and take away any plates that were finished. I also like the charm of this old building.
