The Stand - American Classics Redefined

Fantastic overall. A great lunch spot or a nice casual dinner. Great service. Food came out at a good speed. Flavors were excellent and much better than my expectations. The chef who designed the menu deserves an award. Portion sizes were good too. Only feedback would be the rice to meat ratio was off in the piri piri chicken bowl. Way too much rice for that amount of chicken. But the taste was stellar. I could really taste the grilled char on the chicken, the sauce was well balanced with the salad and purple rice. Wow what a unique rice that was. I loved it. We also had the stand burger which was great. Just a nice classic burger taste, especially with the grilled onions. Minor edit- the ai reply annoyed me. The Stand is an impressive approach to casual fast food dining! The owners have done a fantastic job of hiring the right people and implementing the right systems to provide a great guest experience. The menu is both impressive and well executed. I ordered the French Onion soup burger, medium well, and was not disappointed. And the variety of offerings is great; something for everyone. I appreciated the selection of beers on tap. Would be great if they offered a couple of ciders on tap. Note: I almost never give 5 stars.

Got a French Onion Soup burger, Short Rib Grilled Cheese, a Build Your Own (Beef, Blue Cheese, Bacon, Grilled Onions, Tomato, Pickled Onion, Hickory Sauce, Diced Red Pepper) burger, and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries. Everything was very good. Update: Got the Red Curry Chicken sandwich, Onion Stack burger, a Build Your Own burger, an order of fries, to and a Mint Chocolate Crunch shake. Everything was excellent.

The Stand is an American classics restaurant located in Santee. They have a large menu with burgers, salads, Asian rice bowl, sandwiches and even hot dogs. The service is an order at the counter, get a number and find a table kind of place. Busy place. We ordered food to go and everything was delicious and fresh. Big portion of their salad. Sweet potato fries were tasty, grilled chicken bowl was small but good and the grilled short rib cheese sandwich was hefty but slightly greasy. Overall, we really like the flavorful food and will definitely go back to visit again.

People who have lived in Santee have been curious to see how the launch of this restaurant was going to be. The plaza hasn't had something new built in about a decade, and considering the very popular epic wings being right across from them I was definitely interested to compare them. I went around 1:30 a couple days after they had opened. Obviously very busy, but the restaurant is a lot bigger than it seems and has a lot of seating. Upon walking in we were greeted by every single employee, including the cooks. Something they continued to do to every guest that walked in. Typical practice for newly opened establishment, curious to see if they will actually continue this in the future.
