The Shanty Cafe

We stopped in Darien during a road trip specifically to eat at a small local spot. Our mistake was we misunderstood the dog policy. The staff was so friendly and accommodating as we sat outside in some drizzling rain with our pup. They made our girl some eggs and our order of pancakes and avocado toast was delicious!!! The patrons proved it's the friendliest town!! Our dog was loved by all and we had no problem sitting on the adorable patio during breakfast. The coffee is wonderful and the service is warm and welcoming!!!

This spot is super cute and relaxing. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great for early morning brunch. They have coffees, teas, and some alcoholic drinks. They also have a great selection of food avaliable. I ordered a bloody Mary and it waa so good I didnt take a picture til I was almost done!

Just driving through this cute little town to find this gem of a place! The building was beautiful to look at and the people inside were so kind. They food tasted wonderful and super filling given their large portions! The drinks we tried were a chai and a plain latte and they both hit the spot! If you live in town or are just stopping through, definitely don’t miss out on this charming place!

This place is great! The food is fresh and affordable. The homemade white bread is the real showstopper. Chicken salad is my favorite on the menu. Definitely stop in and check this place out

This is an adorable cafe!! What a great discovery as we were travelling south. We had a delicious piece of quiche with a crunchy crust and a soothing cup of coffee. The service was so friendly and the regulars welcomed us to their little coffee shop. We will definitely be back next time we are passing through.
