Customer Reviews
1st time eating here and I can I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I got the Brisket Plate with fries and Coleslaw. Brisket was not Texas Brisket, but was very tasty and tender and juicy. Delicious for sure. Im a big Coleslaw fan and the Coleslaw here was pretty good as well. Wife got the fish and shrimp plate. With fried Grouper and and fried shrimp with fries and a salad. Grouper was Amazing, soft and tender. Tarter sauce was definitely not needed. Shrimp fried perfectly. Did not have any desserts but I was impressed by the Ice-cream bar..... looked yummy. Next time Im in town I will be stopping in again.
I stopped here for take-out on my way home from a business trip, and it did not disappoint. The brisket was tender, fried green tomatoes were crispy and juicy, and this may have been some of the best potato salad and cole slaw I've had at a barbecue spot. The service was quick and courteous, with my food ready to go in about 10 minutes. The only thing that was disappointing was the lack of an online ordering system, but, the speed of service made up for that.
Smoked chicken was burned to a crisp on the outside and dry on the inside. The flavor was good but only on the small pieces that were not too dry to eat. The BBQ sauce has a very different flavor. It taste strongly of apple sauce. The onion rings are not good. I did not care for the baked beans. They have chucks of ground sausage in them. The hamburger steak was served over mashed potatoes with gravy and onions. The potatoes were good. Waited 30 mins for our food because they were short staffed in the kitchen.
Stopped here on the way to NOLA with our baby. Solid pick with good food. We ordered the lumpia rolls and the meat platter. The bbq sauce on the table is on the sweeter side. All of the meats were delish. The Brunswick stew was in the more tomato-y side. All in all would stop by again.
Food was really good. We had brisket grilled cheese which was so good, pulled pork sandwich with tons of pulled pork. The atmosphere was casual with lots of interesting items from earlier times like classic cigarette machines. Several televisions with sports & license plates on the wall from all states. Well worth the stop
