A quaint gem in Lafayette! It’s the kind of place that feels like you’re dining in a loved one’s home. We came for Sunday brunch and the food delicious and the ingredients were fresh. My boyfriend had the Eggs Benedict and I had the Veggie Omelette. Both delicious! The side of toast was freshly baked by the owner and we decided to leave with a whole loaf. Looking forward to coming back.
Food was good, all organic and made there. Restaurant was empty on a Saturday late morning. The server and the cook were friendly. A little odd that we were charged $3 for an extra plate to split a burger for my kid (apparently this is stated in the menu). Overall good but probably will not visit again.
We ordered a sandwich and chicken pancakes, which they kindly replaced with turkey upon our request. This came with a small portion of soup. We really liked that the portions overall were generous. Everything was delicious. The coffee was a bit bitter for me personally as I prefer a smoother taste, but the owners were very polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. The food was tasty and authentic. I truly recommend visiting. I am not sure why the rating is so low, but I highly recommend giving this place a try.
I had high expectations after reading the reviews but I am totally disappointed. It’s an old and dated restaurant which needs major upgrades. You have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom. All that did not bother me. I was disappointed with the food. $14.95 for a breakfast items. But who charges $3 for a piece of toast? I am sorry what? A toast is always included in the breakfast. An ordinary bread, nothing special too. Then to make matters worse, they will also charge $3 for splitting the plate? Seriously? You can tell that they are using cheaper quality ingredients because it reflected in the taste. Very bland and ordinary. The pancakes had lumps of flour in it. Their freshly baked bread tasted dry and flavorless. They prefer cash instead of card. Someone wanted to order
Maria and Ahmed cook only with natural and sustainable ingredients and the food tastes fresh and fantastic. We usually get veggie omelettes, Joe’s Special scramble with Italian sausage, or Eggs Benedict on weekends. For lunch, chicken pesto sandwich, and chicken salad - either as a sandwich or on a green salad with the raspberry dressing. All are so tasty! Always get the breakfast potatoes, even if having lunch - they are so yummy and crisp without being greasy. The baked goods are excellent - we’ve taken multiple loaves of bread home and are never disappointed. Maria and Ahmed are so welcoming and warm and we always feel like family when we go there to have a meal. We now live about 45 minutes from Lafayette but we take every opportunity to stop by for a meal if we’re even somewhat cl
