The Pelican Bistro

So, if you read MM's Google review from 2 weeks ago, you'll see little has changed. We arrived after church around noon on Sunday. One person was sitting at an outdoor table, there was a table of six and a table of 2 seated ahead of us. The last page of the menu states food is prepared "a la minute," so prepare yourself for a 15-40 minute wait for your food. If this is the case, we'd like to recommend the owners put out some bread and butter for the patrons to munch on as they prepare for the long wait. We watched as the table of 6 food came out rather haphazardly and certainly not all at once. We happened to have a coupon for a free appetizer, so we ordered the Crab Dip and a side salad to start along with our main entrees of "Fall Off The Bone" Ribs and Octopus Rissoto as soon as th

Food was great with large portion size. Food presentation was very good. Friendly staff including our server Michelle with owner stopping by table a couple of times.

The service was excellent. Our server was attentive, nice and jovial. The shrimp Mozambique and the pan seared salmon are fantastic. Calamari was a tad over done. The squid was cooked fine, the breading was a bit crunchier than it should have been. Five dollar margaritas on Mondays. Finally a place that should do well in that plaza as long as people know about it

We came at 3:30 pm on a Sunday. We were not alone in the restaurant! We ate a late lunch of grilled salmon with saffron rice and veggies for me, and a large burger and fries for my husband. Both were excellent. Service was great. Our server offered a taster of their house chardonnay to see if I liked it. I did, and at $7 it was an amazing price. Highly recommend.

This is the second time we’ve come to Pelican Bistro since the new ownership. Both times the food was excellent. On this occasion we celebrated my husbands birthday and we had a large group. The food came out timely, the checks were accurate and they even allowed us to bring our own birthday cake. We’ll definitely be back.
