We spent 4 nights here and it was AMAZING! The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. It felt very historical with the choice of furniture. The breakfasts were all homemade and delicious- we chose to eat on the delightful patio each morning. The owner and her daughter were so gracious and nice and eager to help in any way they could. I would definitely recommend this for anyone staying in the area!
We stayed during the weekend following fourth of July to celebrate my son's sixth birthday and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the "Whale Watch" room and had a gorgeous view of Monterey Bay. The breakfasts were delicious and all of the staff was helpful and courteous. The location is nice too - in walking distance of the aquarium and various restaurants. We will definitely book a room here again the next time we stay in Monterey! No complaints at all.
We had a wonderful stay at Old St. Angela Inn! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly and given a tour of the building. Our room was beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated (very “grandma chic” in the best way) with a fireplace that made it feel extra warm. It was spacious enough for our family of four, and we all slept comfortably . Breakfast in the morning was delicious and made fresh, which was super nice. The common areas were just as cozy and charming as the room, and honestly we wished we had stayed more nights just to enjoy the space longer. We loved everything about our stay and will absolutely be coming back again soon!
I had a great stay here, in a room with a gas fireplace and partial ocean view. I loved the room and the house! The windows in the room open to a neighborhood, with sounds of the ocean nearby and from our particular room you could see the water. The downstairs common space is cozy and the outside sitting area in the garden is wonderful. It's an old home, so there is some dust and some things do break. Right when you walk out, you can see down the street to the ocean, where there is an amazing trail to walk, with seals and sea lions everywhere, gorgeous homes, and if you don't mind a lot of walking, you can walk to the shops and the aquarium. I was disappointed at the lack of direct service - I expected someone to be onsite in the morning during breakfast, asking how we were doing, if
Stayed in Newport room. Hosts were wonderful. Was my first genuine bed & breakfast experience. The hosts made omelettes to-order, peanut butter muffins, and laid out an assortment of fruit and mini sandwiches. Common living room on first floor with fireplace and board games available. Property was decorated up the wazoo for Christmas. Room interior charming with antique furniture. Yes water pressure is sort of variable as someone commented, but I think you should be able to get past that considering everything else. Prime location too.
