Spotted Duck

Excellent food and great service, we really enjoyed our dinner here. Signature duck dish is very good and highly recommended. Duck pate appetizer was very tasty. Risotto was top-notch as well. The service was reasonably fast and attentive. In other news, I lost my (currently favorite) hat (and I didn’t even drink that much wine - I think), but I called the restaurant and recovered it the next day, to my great relief.

A charming place nestled in the town of Pacific Grove. Chef Jerry brings his creativity to the table with French inspired cuisine. Starting with Duck Liver Paté which was whipped to mousse like consistency. Entrees were Duck breast over polenta and Lamb shoulder with gnocchi. The Lamb was tender, and the accompaniments unified the flavors beautifully. The Duck Breast was perfectly done to medium rare, tender and juicy. Anson recommended a bottle of Cotes du Rhone which paired very nicely with all 3 dishes. Avery was sweet and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. On her recommendation, we shared Pot de Creme for dessert, which was absolutely delicious. To top it off, the restaurant is dog friendly, which is a nice plus. We can't wait to go back for more.

In town for work and SO enjoyed my meal. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. The food was fantastic. I’ve never had better tomato bisque, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and the Meyer lemon desert was packed with berries. Well done Spotted Duck. 👏🏻👏🏻

I recommend this restaurant to everyone who has a stopping by on this small town. We had dinner last night, ordered an oyster dish as a starter; duck breast and cod as main dishes. All of them are great! The service is friendly and good. Much better food than we had in San Francisco! And a little reminder: even though it shows open until 9pm, the owner said they stop to take new customers at 8.

Had the most delicious dinner here. Truly elevated food. At first from the outside the restaurant looks pretty ordinary but the food-wow! Probably some of the best French food I've had. Each dish had something special and subtle a true foodie would appreciate. The menu and food feels created by a passionate and talented chef. We recommend the pate, asparagus soup, and duck breast.
