The Monarch

We went to The Monarch to celebrate my husband’s birthday and we truly couldn’t have chosen a better place. From the moment we walked in, I loved the atmosphere — it has such a cozy yet high-end feel that makes it perfect for a special occasion. Our server, Jay, was amazing. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that really enhanced our experience. We ordered the Caesar salad, which I understand is one of their signature dishes, and it did not disappoint — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Juan was amazing! He’s an Argentinian guy who took such great care of us. He was super friendly and made us feel very comfortable from the start. He gave us a very detailed explanation of the menu and helped us choose the best options. The Caesar salad was absolutely delicious and definitely a must-try. The service was excellent thanks to him. Highly recommend!

Our favorite steakhouse in Aspen. A true, classic steakhouse. Not the modern slop like they do in Dallas and Miami. Very much like Halls in Charleston. Get the table-side caesar.

From the moment I walked in with my cowboy hat and Italian coat, they had it handled - proper coat check, no jackets draped over chairs, just clean sightlines and room to breathe. The space itself whispers quiet luxury. There's a buzz, a hum of liveliness that feels genuine, not manufactured. You almost wish there was a velvet-jacketed smoking lounge hidden behind the bar. The Caesar salad cart makes its rounds without disrupting flow - these operational details matter. It's a rare restaurant that scores 5 stars across food, service, and atmosphere, but The Monarch hits the trifecta. Everything about the entire dining experience is excellent -- the menu is terrific, the wine list is impressive, the service is personalized without being overbearing, the atmosphere is very nicely done, and the food -- the food is worth coming to Aspen for. There is not a single thing about this dining experience that we would have changed. The Monarch is a not-to-miss part of any trip to Aspen. Not surprisingly, reservations are very highly recommended.
