The Local Spot

This is my all-time favorite bakery in the Bay Area. Always happy when I get a cinnamon bun and one of the mammoth sized cookies! It’s great to see they have grown their business and now have a storefront. This not only shows the Community backs them, but their product is delicious!! From farmers markets, multiple city events in Foster City, San Mateo, Burlingame, San Carlos, and many more, so grateful to have this business run by such nice and great people!

First, absolutely come check this place out! Second, this is where the Made Out of Dough storefront is! Not only are there amazing Made Out of Dough pastries (scones, cookies, coffee cake, ginormous cinnamon roll), but there are tons of other treats and trinkets from local makers! The cool part is that the store doesn’t take commission, so what you pay is what the local maker gets! Come check this place out!!

I love love LOVE The Local Spot! The Local Spot is the perfect one-stop shop for tasty goodies and locally-made gifts. The owners of the shop (who are super friendly and care deeply about the local community) have done a wonderful job of creating a lovely space to promote local artists and vendors. On top of that, their baked goods are delicious and always brighten up my day! My favorites are their pumpkin loaf and their scones. I especially love the maple bacon scone! They also have a vendor who sells coffee drinks and several snack vendor options. Dozens of local makers and vendors sell their items through this location, which has been really fun for me to peruse since it’s been hard for me to make it out to craft fairs after becoming a parent. The artists come by to restock their shelve

Courtney and Michelle do amazong work, and are truly great people. They and their staff have always been incredibly kind, warm, and friendly, and their welcoming spirit extends to and fills The Local Spot. My family has been buying desserts and baked goods from Made Out of Dough for holidays, family gatherings, and our kids' birthday parties for years, and The Local Spot has helepd streamline and optimize that experience even further. We have placed large order multiple times and been able to show up and get everything quickly and with ease. The experience couldn't be better! We really love going to visit The Local Spot store to see all the great products from local artists and artisans, and usually pick something up that we wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. I've had various pastries from The Local Spot, but my favorite was the huge, fluffy cinnamon roll. It was covered in frosting but not too sweet so it didn't feel too much like a dessert. They also had a Twix brownie that blew my miiiiiind. I've also had various cookies and pie and scones! Super nice owners and cute little spot that is more convenient for me than the farmer's market.
