The Lilac Inn

A fantastic place to stay and visit. The staff, including the inn keeper were wonderful and accommodating. Breakfast included with your stay. Freshly made to order with homegrown tomatoes, basil etc. It was like staying at your mom's or grandma's. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Decor, just amazing. We will return. We so looked forward to a one night stay in this beautiful in the pictures inn. Wow, reality was so different. This property is so sad and in serious need of maintenance. Peeling paint, untended gardens on the outside reflected a lack of caring by the owner. We were shocked to see that some people used this as a wedding venue. The inside of out expensive suite was dirty, the a/c didn't work, paint touch ups everywhere, dirty and frayed furnishings completed out room and the rest of the building as well. We were glad to leave.

My wife and I stayed at the Lilac Inn for several days over the Christmas holiday week. Shelly and Ashley are super friendly and accommodating, and they make you feel like family. The inn has a cozy and comfortable feel, and the entire staff is great. They serve a nice breakfast in the morning, and Brandon is a relatively short drive to Middlebury, Woodstock and Burlington. There's the added benefit of Lady Bird, the lovable basset hound who roams the premises and keeps an eye on everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and highly recommend.

We recently filmed a wedding at the Lilac Inn. It's a beautiful location. Their gardens make for a wonderful backdrop. Everything is on location so guests can go from Ceremony, to cocktail to reception easily. The town of Brandon is a gem. I recommend for small to mid sized weddings.

My husband and I stayed here last weekend while in town to go to a bluegrass festival his parents were attending. This is a beautiful property. We were fortunate enough to stay in the bridal chamber, one of 9 rooms. It was expansive, included a couch, table and chairs and the cutest vanity area. The shower was wonderful and huge as well, two shower heads and a handheld wand. I think my favorite part was the four poster bed, complete with a step stool to get into it. |Breakfast was made to order each morning with daily specials. The muffins were fresh baked and so moist, I had cinnamon strudel one morning and poppy seed the next. I originally got one to pass the time while we waited for our food. The next day I knew I had to have one regardless. There was literally no waiting it came out so
