The Library - Sandpoint Branch

Our first trip to the Sandpoint library was amazing. We drove one hour from Post Falls to see the Birds of Pray presentation. We got to see 4 different birds of prey in person. It was so fun. We toured the library and it was beautiful with lots of selections. We would have checked out several interesting items, except we were only in Sandpoint for the day.

Quiet, small library. Some desks and a couple of tables to work from as well as some reading chairs and a couch. Outlets were available in a few spots. Wi-fi was sufficient.

Its a great library and friendly staff. Unfortunately the reason for 3 stars is that this is possible one of the noisiest libraries I've ever been in, in my life! I come to work here most days during the week and the amount of kids that are allowed to run screaming through the library, playing hide and seek etc and people taking personal calls is unbelievable. I have no issues with kids playing or people taking calls but there's a time and place for that and the library isn't it! The library even has a social area/foyer just outside the actual library main area and there is a kids section - a large room for kids called Karen's Corner, yet the noise is allowed to continue throughout the library. Super kind staff!! I love the free community exchange for books and puzzles, book sale shelf, teen hang out spot, and local events they were marketing everywhere. I'm a visitor who needed resources but honestly all the community support has made me want to move here!

Wonderful library system with helpful and responsive staff. They work hard to accommodate requests, as well. The children's area is lovely, including an enclosed play area where children can play with puppets, puzzles, and other simple toys. Tutoring rooms can be reserved. Curbside pickup of holds available. Many digital choices.
