The Kitchen, from The Virginia Beer Co.

This full-service brewpub is brand new and has a warm, inviting wood paneled interior with high ceilings and lots of natural lighting. Virginia Beer Company (VBC) also has a Williamsburg location that apparently has food trucks but I haven’t been there We came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch before heading to the Yorktown battlefield museum. Craft beers on tap are great- I had a Black Lager (schwarzbier) and my husband had one of their IPAs. They have about 12 beers on tap, four cocktails, non alcoholic options, wine and some non-VBC beverage options. Water is served from glass jugs. We brought 2 kids and they were happy to order from the kids menu: fish and chips (fluffy and crispy and delicious) and a really tasty looking cheeseburger. Woo-hoo, The Kitchen from the VBC is now open for business and it was worth the wait! We went for lunch last week and it was marvelous - my husband had the Cubana sandwich and I opted for the steak Cæsar salad. The sandwich disappeared quickly, and I savored my salad - perfectly fresh, crisp greens and perfectly medium-rare steak, deliciously seasoned. (Maybe a tiny bit chewy, but that's simply the way this particular cut is.) So flavorful, and the servings of were generous enough that we had a fabulous dinner that evening. We also ordered the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer - OMG, so, so yummy! *Those* we demolished on site. Our server was delightful, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. No food pics, cause I was too excited, and too busy chatting with folks. The family atmosphere definitely carries over from the original taproom, which I love! I also really appreciate the intentional and thoughtful menu highlighting their beer and the history of the Virginia Beer Co. through the years. I had the tuna poke tots and the crispy rice tots were amazing as was the tuna…really cool combo. I also had the burger and loved the homemade pickles (and I don’t even like pickles regularly)! The beer continues to be amazing, especially the special release stout…chef’s kiss. Congrats to the team on a beautiful space, great food, and great vibes.

BIG FAN! We have needed something like this in Yorktown and I can see myself coming back here often! The vibes are awesome and the food is delicious and the menu is so creative! While known for their beer, I really enjoyed the mixed drinks and it was so much variety! Overall, dont sleep on this new location. Im betting its going to be the hot spot for spring + summer!

Been excited for the grand opening and it did not disappoint! Food and service were incredible. Beers were top notch as usual. Brewpub is very spacious so bring lots of friends! Can't wait to come back in the spring!
