The Jonathan Jasper Wright Inn

My mom and I visited Charleston, SC for a girls trip and enjoyed our stay at the Jonathan Jasper Wright Inn. The listing on VRBO was accurate and it was impeccably clean. We stayed in the room on the first floor, which was small but enough room for the two of us. The bed was VERY comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great, and although the bathroom lacks counter space, we were able to utilize the shelf above the toilet for our toiletries and found it sufficient. We walked to and from downtown Charleston multiple times. It was about a 15 minute walk. We also took Ubers to and from Downtown and to and from the airport and they were all reasonably priced. Absolutely loved this cute, cozy inn. We loved the history of the Jonathan Jasper Wright Inn. The room was tastefully decorated and Seantell was a wonderful host. She pays attention to little details and was very good with communication. The bed was very comfy and we enjoyed sitting on the patio after a long day walking around Charleston. And we did do a lot of walking. The JJW Inn is located in a nice neighborhood that we were close enough to the historic area to walk to. There are markets and a pizza place nearby that we took advantage of. D'Allesandro's Pizza was only a couple of blocks away and we really liked their pizza. We felt safe wherever we walked and were happy to come back to a comfortable welcoming place. Would definitely stay again

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our anniversary and absolutely loved it! We stayed in the Cannonborough Suite which was perfect for a couple. The host was super nice, she left complimentary snacks and wine for us in the room and was very quick when we asked for more towels. We spent a lot of time on the patio, which felt surprisingly private despite the surrounding units. I’m not sure I would have felt 100% safe walking around the neighborhood at night, but with a car, local cabs, and Uber, we had no issues at all getting around. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay was excellent! My new wife and I stayed at JJW over the course of week for our honeymoon and our stay was breezy and relaxing, in a large part thanks to our stay. We stayed in suite B, so we had a full apartment to aid us in our trip. It felt like Charleston was our home! The place was clean and fairly quiet; it had clean linens, facilities, everything! The bed was soft and comfortable and the locations was convenient. My only hang ups with the place are nitpicks and aren’t hardly anything that could be helped. The parking situation is a little tight, especially with other guests, but it’s manageable. There’s also some night noise, but with the proximity to the hospital and MUSC, it’s just a neighborhood trait. I wouldn’t change a thing though! 5/5, WILL stay again.

Our stay at the JJW Inn was perfect. We could have spent hours on the porch enjoying the warm breeze. Every detail in the apartment is beautiful, from the furniture to the artwork and thoughtful selection of coffee table books. It was sparkling clean. It is near the main road but we didn’t notice any noise. The neighbourhood is lovely for a stroll with a range of places to eat and drink within a couple of minutes and the main strip around 15 mins walk. We had no need for a car and for us it was nice to “come home” from the busier areas.
