The John Brown House

I’m a photographer local to Halifax. I rented this house for photos and I loved it so much I rented it for 2 weeks later as well! I will continue to use this venue over and over.

I had an amazing experience renting The John Brown House. The owners themselves are extremely kind and helpful. They really go above and beyond for their renters and guests to enjoy themselves. The property itself is lovely. An absolutely beautiful home that I can tell the owners took great time renovating and paying close attention to details. It took my breath away when I entered the home and saw the rich history of the house combined with the modern necessities. I will continue recommending this property to anyone I meet for a nice stay or hosting an event.

We made an unexpected visit to Halifax with our family and have been watching the progress of the John Brown House. So we decided that was where we wanted to stay. Jennifer and Brandon are such amazing hosts. They thought of every detail to make our stay wonderful and cozy. The house and all the history is absolutely incredible. The claw foot tub was my kids favorite and the cozy outside setting sitting on either porch enjoying the beautiful weather was my favorite. My husband and I would highly recommend staying there. There is plenty of room for large families or just a small family of 4 like us. Thank you Jennifer and Brandon for making our stay so wonderful, we can’t wait to come again and stay there!

The stay was amazing and the town of Halifax was very inviting for my wife and I. Peaceful and extremely enjoyable for us. I hope to visit again, and look forward to staying at the John Brown house again.

Super cute quaint place. It was an absolute gem in the middle of paradise. Staying in an old historical house was so fun and charming. Can't wait to travel back to NC to stay again.
