The Hogs Trough

We were passing through and ordered brisket to go. The two servers we encountered were friendly and stayed busy. The restaurant appeared clean and was nicely decorated (except the Holsteins really didn't make a lot of sense.) The brisket seasoning was decent, but the meat was slightly dry (we ate in their parking lot.) The fries were awful. They tasted like they were cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough. The mac & cheese tasted like school cafeteria (overcooked noodles and odd taste.) The hot and sweet sauces appear to be vinegar based which I'm not a fan of. The hot isn't too bad. This location just opened up so I'd be willing to try them again, dining it. It was a relief to see employees smoking the food right outside (as we've encountered several bbq places that claim to serve smoked me

Great food,server very nice and did a great job, nice clean restaurant, prices are great and the proportions are huge! This place has received repeat business from me!

Stopped in for lunch and had the hogs platter with ice tea. The ice tea came out hot and so then I was offered more ice. The meat was OK, but could not taste any smoke flavor at all. The ribs were overcooked and dry. Fries were cold. The Baked beans had no flavor, like they came straight out of the can. Used a lot of the Hot BBQ sauce to flavor the food. We were expecting a more smoked flavor!

We love The Hogs Trough! Before today I'd only tried their burgers through a takeout order, not dine in. The burgers were big and delicious (big enough for two meals). Today we dined in and we tried the platter with 4 sides. The meat selection was wonderful and the bbq meat (chicken, pork, ribs, brisket) was very tender and juicy, not dried out. Hands down the best bbq in Maysville. The portions were huge, we brought home enough leftovers for another meal. The service was great and the food came out fast. I would highly recommend The Hogs Trough in Maysville!
